Cupboards with character and architectural features like this example used to show up frequently in the 70's at the Jim Burk, Greater York Antiques Show. Recently retrieved from the Southwest after being off the market for nearly 40 years, it first appeared in "American Home" magazine, October 1973 in an article entitled "Pennsylvania Dutch Perfection" by Rosemary L. Klein, as featured in a Lancaster County collection. Note the gouged carved pilasters and decoration. The interior retains the original plate bars, spoon racks and a mellow yellow wash.
