There are six known large Dentzel carousel roosters. This one surfaced locally in the 1970’s and at this time we do not know from which carousel it came. The intricacy of the carving of Dentzel’s roosters far surpassed that of the other menagerie figures. This one stands out retaining strong remnants of the original paint whereas many of the others were stripped of their paint and then re-painted.
